After much consideration, I have decided to discontinue services with Alora due to ongoing concerns with communication, professionalism, and overall clinical support. There has been a consistent lack of clear communication regarding scheduling, supervision, and expectations for sessions. Important updates are often last-minute or only provided after families reach out first, which creates unnecessary stress and instability for clients who rely on structure and consistency. Scheduling changes have also been made without proper notice or consent. There have been multiple instances where session times were changed or confirmed without prior agreement, and notification was given the same day stating when the therapist would be arriving. This is simply not acceptable. Many parents work, have multiple children, and coordinate numerous responsibilities. Schedules should be collaborative and confirmed in advance, not assigned or changed without communication or approval. There also appears to be a significant lack of adequate support and preparation for therapists. Therapists are sometimes sent into client homes on their first day with little to no direct supervision or guidance. While telehealth supervision can be helpful in certain circumstances, it should not replace proper in-person training and support — especially during initial sessions. This lack of oversight not only places an unfair burden on the therapists but also compromises the quality of care provided to the client. Overall, my experience with Alora has been highly disorganized and lacking in the professional standards expected of a clinical service provider. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so that future families and therapists do not have to navigate these same challenges.
