We came to Development Therapy not fully realizing just how impactful Maria’s dedication and expertise would be for our daughter. From the very first evaluation, we set a few initial goals, but what we gained over time went far beyond what we expected. As we progressed through therapy, new challenges emerged, and Maria approached each one with compassion, insight, and an open mind. She not only helped our daughter work through her sensory sensitivities (regulating emotions) and difficulties with transitions, but she also supported our entire family in understanding how to navigate these experiences. Over six months of weekly sessions, we watched our 3-year-old blossom. Her confidence grew, her ability to cope improved tremendously, and she truly became a different child — more regulated, more joyful, and more connected. Along the way, my husband and I learned so many practical, effective strategies that we now use daily with both of our children. We are deeply grateful for Maria’s unwavering commitment and the meaningful impact she’s had on our family. Her work didn’t just help our daughter — it empowered us as parents, too.

Our family absolutely loves the social skills classes. After only 5 social skills classes my child already shows increased social confidence. Last week he greeted someone by saying, "Hi, what is your name? Do you want to play with me?" I was so proud as this is the first time he has started a conversation with hello and asking for their name! At school drop off he is usually very reserved, hanging on my arm. But today he joined a group of other kids and started chatting.
