I am deeply disappointed by the entire experience. We have been through years of difficulty in securing ABA therapy for our son, despite receiving multiple recommendations from his providers. We have been in contact with this center for several months, hopeful that we were finally making progress. My husband was upfront about his age and behaviors from the beginning, and we were assured that this would not be a concern. Despite being diagnosed previously, we were required to undergo multiple reevaluations, including an on-site evaluation for insurance approval, which necessitated missing multiple days of work to complete these visits and assessments. After all this, we were informed that our son was “aged out” of their program and that the center was unable to provide the level of care he required. I am disheartened that they discarded us, likely aware that they would not have accepted him in the first place. This was all while ensuring they were able to take advantage of our family in the process, assuming they were billing his insurance and quite frankly, wasting our time. I do hope we were the exception and no other families go through the same experience.
