I was a Foster Parent with NYSP out of Wheeling, WV for almost 10 years. I enjoyed my time with all the children I fostered and even adopted two of them. I was in the proses of adopting three boys when I was accused of something I didn't do. One of my own children want the boys gone so he accused me of Abuse and the state add Neglect. They will close you down without waiting until the investigation over. I was cleared but that doesn't mean much the boy's are gone and my reparation is ruined. There was one worker out of WV office stood up for me, but the others didn't. This why there is few Foster Parent today. I'm ask about it, I tell my story and tell them to think hard before they leap into it.

Fairmont NYAP has been an amazing experience. I came from a different agency and this experience has been wonderful. I know some people have had bad experiences at different agencies. I personally am amazed at how wonderful the staff are and that I got exactly the type of kids I asked for. I have always had a great support system from NYAP. I am currently adopting 2 children and am considering opening my door to help one more. This is not for everyone but the reward outways the process so to speak. I could name names however the whole staff is incredible. If you are looking for a perfect easy system it doesn't exist. If you are looking to love and help and or even maybe save a life... these wonderful ladies and gentlemen are by far the best I have worked with.
