Owl Therapy is an incredible resource for my family. My daughter feels safe and supported, and they have the tools to support her spicy little nervous system (ie. swings, games, sensory friendly tools). My daughter absolutely adores Mr. Zach. He has been an invaluable support to me as a parent. He is always willing to give me ideas and resources on how to best support my child’s specific needs. Five stars is NOT ENOUGH.

When my son was diagnosed with autism at around 2 years of age his doctors recommended that he start speech and occupational therapy. Like any parent I wanted to do anything I could do to help my little guy achieve the skills he needed and after a little research I learned about OWL Therapy and signed my son up not knowing really what to expect. I first started with speech therapy with Kathy Smith. My son was not talking much at the beginning and mostly interested in rocking back and forth but no matter how distracted my son wanted to be she still was able to use her skills and knowledge to bring out his most basic forms of communication and then gradually built on those over the months we've worked together. Kathy is so great at always finding a way to get a child engaged while still honoring their needs and interests. She had so many great tips, resources and knowledge to share and I found myself imitating what I'd learned from watching her sessions with him. A month or two after my son started with Kathy I also enrolled him in Occupational Therapy with Zach Gascho. Zach was equally wonderful with my son, allowing my son's interest to guide their sessions and helping my son develop new skills such as learning to use a fork, drink from a cup, get dressed or adjust to a schedule in preparation for pre-k. Zach has always provided so many helpful tips on how to redirect different behaviors and is always coming up with creative solutions to some of the things my son struggles with such as biting or hitting. From the time I met him he really took the time to get to know what we were aiming to get out of OT, my sons strengths and then he took the time to establish clear goals that we could realistically aim for. He is great at quickly adapting in the moment based on what my son is most interested in and redirecting him towards different activities as needed as well. A little more than a year later with both of these two wonderful providers and my son has made huge strides in both communication and his daily living skills. He is so excited to see Kathy and Zach on the mornings that he has his therapy sessions that he calls their name the moment he sees them and is eager to start their sessions. Although I don't formally know the other providers as well as Kathy and Zach the office staff and other therapists are always taking the time to stop and say hello to my son when they pass by and they have never been judgey when my son has a rough day (and he did have some, especially when he first started!). Overall I just feel like this little buisiness is filled with people who genuinely care about their clients and people who I ultimately feel I can trust when it comes to my son's care. At Owl Therapy I feel like my son is more than just a client or a number, I feel like he is part of a little community filled with caring and competent providers working for a buisiness that has it's heart and purpose in the right place. I highly recommend Owl therapy (and of course Kathy and Zach) to anyone looking for caring, competent and adaptable OT and ST providers. I can't speak more highly on my experience here. πŸ’–

We are grateful for OWL Therapy Services. Lauren is willing to work and craft plans and solutions our daughter needs as far as speech therapy. OWL Therapy is also well connected in the community our daughter's many different providers (school, Mayo Clinic) know who they are and their services. OWL Therapy staff are also friendly and easy to work with.
