I’ve been a patient here for a while, and while it’s improved from its chaotic past, there are still some serious quirks. They’ve made positive changes recently, and most of the staff is professional. The best therapists are excellent—Talisha Bracken, for instance, is a standout who goes the extra mile—but they’re usually booked. If you don’t get someone like her, you might end up with a dud, like this one they won’t let go who doesn’t even know what ‘gaslighting’ means. Worse, some therapists here lean so heavily into their religion that they can’t see your perspective or understand basic psychology—they don’t believe people out there can do real harm, like gaslighting or worse, which is alarming. They’re now offering modern treatments like ketamine therapy, which is a plus, but to my knowledge, they still haven’t hired a full-time psychologist to manage certain medications some patients need, regardless of the company’s biases or beliefs—that’s a lingering gap. The front desk has an entitled staff member who handles patient evaluation scheduling and has always gossiped about patients and their families, which is unacceptable. It’s forbidden for any staff to speak openly about patients, no matter the circumstance, let alone the front desk, yet it still happens. Another ridiculous practice: if you don’t click with a therapist, you have to explain why to the manager and hope they agree to switch you. I’ve lived in cities where they let you change therapists without explanation—because you shouldn’t have to justify it—and I’ve never heard of anything as absurd as this. It’s better than it used to be, but these issues really drag it down.

I've been going here sense I was 16. I was bounced around on meds and nobody would listen to what worked. Or beleive me on what happened because they were'nt trained back then on my issues. Years later when I left my son's father I went back, handed them documents of my diagnosis from my therapist prior, told them my meds were running out. They NEVER let me see the phycologist, I've now been un-medicated for the last year and half, and if I bring up mood stabilizers they tell me I'm pill seeking. Now my insurance has bound my hands, and my son is to go there. I called asking for them to transfer him our so my insurance can pay, they refused kept saying they don't do anything with the udac clinic, when I told them he's mute, cerebral palsy, downsyndrome and I'm pretty sure with me and his dad being autistic we need to look for that they justified sending him to a sister clinic. I called their sister clinic, they are not able to deal with that. You'd think they would transfer him, they won't so now I'm petrified my 2 year old who's hurting him self will be ripped around like I was. If you value your self or your family don't go here.

I was slightly apprehensive to go here due to not being able to find out much about the specific doctors through web searches (as well as the two anonymous, years old reviews with no details and likewise the abysmal reviews for the operation in Arizona) but I must say I was extremely pleased with my first visit. I've been referred here through the VA Choice Program and my initial visit was with a therapist who listened to what's going on in my life and some of my history in order to assess which doctor would be the best fit for me. I was impressed that the therapist really demonstrated they cared about what was going on, and took quite a long time to dig into the issues and really get a sense of what I'm going though. I've only had the one visit so far but everything is ticking all the right boxes for me. (I've been involved in mental health treatment for 8 years now, and often at quite a severe level). In any case, I'm leaving this review so that hopefully people don't have to worry or feel apprehensive about coming here.
