First time we started our program with Step up ABA I was little scared because I didn’t know if my son would like it, but It is now December 29, 2025 and my son has made a lot of progress within these two months we’ve been here and I couldn’t be more happier with the results.

I've mentored many teachers in my life and Eric was at the top of the list. Children love & trust his warm mannerism thus they perform and learn more at a higher rate. Eric continues to demonstrate the same zealous ambition and respect towards his clientele.

I love this place! Hands down a place for your child with Autism to learn and really enjoy all the amenities this center offers. Much larger than their great Kent center, but the same kind hearts and hands teaching your kiddos.

Erik frequently posts about Step Up on social media to promote his business but actively ignores or avoids answering the questions of Autistic people in the comments seeking to assess if his practices are identity affirming and respectful. His biases about neurodivergence are very evident and it's clear that the philosophy of Step Up is rooted in a deficit based model to try and modify the behaviors of autistic children rather than support their self-efficacy. I would not send my child here

I highly recommend Step Up ABA for families with children on the autism spectrum. The staff is caring and knowledgeable. I've known the founders, Erik and Carolina, for more than 10 years now, and they are wonderful people who are deeply committed to their work and the families they serve. Their passion for helping children with autism is touching. Overall, a fantastic resource for families in the Seattle area seeking high-quality therapy!

I visited Step Up a few months ago and I honestly couldn’t decide if I wanted to leave a review but I know how important these are to any business. When I visited the owners were welcoming although it was very disorganized when we went to do the assessment Erick didn’t seem like he knew what he was doing. Was also very distracted and didn’t looked like he cared. All he kept saying is how Washington state insurance does not have good coverage for individuals needing ABA like in Colorado. He said but you don’t have to worry your son has private insurance automatic red flag for a business just looking to make quick money. In addition to this I saw one of the therapist snatching a toy from one child another child and say she had it first. This raised another major red flag if I was there and she did that I could not imagine when no parents are around. My son was diagnosed at a young age and I’ve been apart of a proper assessment and I can 100% say that this was not one which is why I decided to keep him home while I found a business that can offer the services he needs. I would NEVER recommend this business to anyone. Kids with autism need care and great attention which clearly won’t come from StepUp. Avoid if at all possible.

My 6-year-old son has attended Step Up ABA since the summer. He has been working on social interactions with peers and kindergarten readiness skills. He enjoys going and has been making good progress toward his goals. Erik and the other therapists are positive, energetic, and patient and all seem to really enjoy working with the kids. We are also getting advice and support for how to help our son do his best at school. Erik and Carolina have created a very welcoming clinic space, and have been very flexible with us in scheduling services for our son. This is not a one-size-fits-all kind of place, they really work with you to customize services to exactly what your child needs.

Erik came highly recommending by our neurodivergent clinical psychologist who diagnosed our daughter with autism. He has a great deal of experience in tackling a wide range of problem behaviors by offering replacement behaviors, positive reinforcement, consistency, modeling, and coaching. Within a matter of months, he developed a customized intervention plan that helped her make drastic shifts quickly and easily. Her teachers, therapists, and I have been amazed by the progress she's made. We are eternally grateful for Erik's professionalism and assistance in teaching us the skills to help her succeed.
