I have a 3 and 1/2 year old autistic son and decided to try ABA therapy with ABA centers of NJ in Mount Laurel even though they were out of network with my insurance as I believed they met my family’s needs best as they explicitly told us they could do therapy with my child at home, at school, and in their center. My child did a combination of all three locations for the last two months however recently we were advised insurance denied school services even though the company told us the approvals were already obtained. I do understand sometimes this happens however the disorganization of this company from the executive director, clinical director, scheduler, BCBA. And RBT on top of the insurance issues is not only disappointing but just really, really difficult when you are already dealing with a child with special needs and looking for help. Therefore , I would recommend anyone looking at this company to really do their research and look at some other companies before this one. I would not wish the headache we have dealt with in trying to deal with this company on anyone. The BCBa was relatively new and my husband and I felt she never really listened to the issues we were dealing with and instead just seemed to be thinking of her response and not actively listening. Her poor planning was very obvious and trickled down to the RBT not knowing what she was doing in helping our child. In the two months my child received services we didn’t see any meaningful progress and unfortunately it seems my child has increased behaviors such as attachment to me (mom).. I truly think ABA therapy could be wonderful and really create some meaningful progress for my child but now know the company and people working with him are so important and will do better research into the next company we choose to try. I felt it was really important to leave an honest review of this company as I wouldn’t want another family / child in need to waste time as we did and allow their child to get to know a therapist who is not qualified or helpful. In the end that’s the goal…. To help our children. This company pushes extreme amount of hours (30 for us) as approved (or so we were told) by insurance even after we voiced concerns over and over about it being too much for my child’s age. They really didn’t seem to be interested in what was best for my child and only cared about what insurance was paying for. I’d be happy to give more detail to any family looking for information regarding this company’s disheartening practices. I never leave reviews for anything but feel this is such a terrible company and don’t want anyone else’s child/family to go thru what we did. We are now starting over with trying to find a better quality therapy place for my child to receive care. Also, I tried to review on Reddit first but my account is so new it wouldn’t let me post it (as I said I never review anything) but for parents looking for more information there are similar bad reviews on there. In response to the owner of the company below, my review aligns with my family’ s experience with your company. Other families may have different experiences however do not make my family’s experience any more or less valid. I hope your company improves all around and other families are better served in the future. Good luck and god bless!
