Delia Boyer, the director of Mental Health for Therapy Smarts and my 10-year-old son's therapist of 5 years is hands down the absolute best child mental health provider that you will find easily in the state of North Carolina. She has Decades of experience and is extraordinarily knowledgeable, consistent, professional, candid, compassionate, respected & EFFECTIVE. She has a gifted intuition with the most complex of pediatric patient's as well, that I don't believe can be taught. It is something that is either innate or doesn't exist. I've worked with a dozen+ child providers that don't have it. Mrs. Boyer choose PCIT for my son at age 5 which is an evidence-based modality that directly involves the parent/family. It was/remains a gamechanger for us. It's the sole reason I'm able to understand & communicate with my own child in the way he needs & understands. Which isn't something I knew we needed. It has nothing to do with parenting styles or what you can find in parenting books, classes, coaching or the like. When your child is neurodivergent/neuroatypical or whatever term you use, there is so much we as parents don't know we don't know let alone how different our whole lives can become once we do. More importantly what a difference it makes in our child's life, family's lives. And the future that becomes available to our kid's when we as parents can be trained to understand them, see things from thier view, engage with them in an effective & positive manner that they respond to, understand & thrive because of. When they are too young to understand what they need themselves & they don't fall within the standard box of "societal norms." There's no pill or magic that can replace or come close to providing the long-term progress, self-coping skills & socially acceptable behaviors that are learned through therapy. They are tools that are also gifts you & a therapist like Mrs. Boyer give your child that are appropriate & necessary for your child to access themselves at anytime & in any situation. I will forever be grateful for all the support Mrs. Boyer has & will continue providing my son. As well as the support that she demands of myself as a parent. Which she has taught me how to effectively provide & holds me accountable for doing so with my son all the time, as she should. I firmly believe that PCIT & step down to CBT though only part of our child's support which includes OT, Medication & an IEP as well, is by far the most important & necessary part of his treatment both short-term & for his future. And his future has expanded because of Mrs. Boyer's therapeutic support of our child.

My daughter has been attending the ABA school for two years. And I cannot express how happy and pleased I am with the amazing results we have seen.
