The Sonder Autism Center

Sonder started out great in VPK and Kindergarten. Right before Covid one owner left and a group of educators came in. Horrible to all and my son went from excelling to regression. Be very careful where you put the little love of your life so they can excel to full potential. I tried to get the academic progress of my son and was called to get reprimanded for my son missing school. He has three medial conditions. I gave them doctor excuses but decided to ignore them. That's unfortunately what are kiddos have to deal with is it not. I probably never forgive Sonder for what they did to him and what he's still dealing with three years later. There is so much that I could say about the individuals involved in running and owning the school but I won't name names. Soak mentioned I should share my experience for other parents to consider. Proceed with caution, please!

The Sonder Autism Center is one of the best centers in Brevard county! Our son has been attending for almost 2 years and we have seen such great results and he’s learning everyday from services! He is always excited to go to school in the morning. The staff is always friendly and courteous and I would recommend to anyone who is looking for ABA services for their child!

Good luck getting your child enrolled into this place they lack professionalism to a high degree they sent me 1 email with the intake forms to get my son enrolled. I promptly sent them back the next day over a month passes by I never received any further communication from them so I start calling to inquire on when my son could possibly start the program. The manager told me she would call me back the next day after I called only for two more days to pass with no call from her. I call back again for an update only for her to email me with a fabricated story of how I never sent the documents back in that were requested and that they don't accept Health First insurance mind you my insurance is not health First. Then at the bottom of the email I am told for no apparent reason that they won't allow my son to enroll him now this is unjust and unfair as I have done absolutely nothing to be treated in such an unprofessional way. My son was recently diagnosed with autism and is in need of ABA services to get him where he needs to be and yet I'm not understanding why the staff at this place is so difficult to work with. However I have reached out to the director in orlando for assistance.

Communication at this school is ridiculous. When they were verifying my daughters insurance they couldn’t find her information. I had to have my sister log on to the website her self from work and print it out otherwise they wouldn’t been able to verify anything! Also, you rarely get a call back regarding any questions you have pertaining to registration or forms your trying to provide. The receptionist Pam couldn’t find our paperwork for over 2 weeks! That’s after I had called to follow up. So that was a 5 week period of nothing getting done. I can’t comment on the education or schooling but the administrative part of this school is a circus act. By the way, all this and I asked multiple times what tuition range is and the will not give out that information so you will be going in blind until your done with all the paper work and placement. I wish I was financially able to open a school like this. They provide a service that’s needed but the reality is we parents are being taken advantage of with the costs of these school. It’s a real shame.

My child attends the Sonder center, he absolutely loves it. He has been going for alittle over 6 months now and he has made so much progress. He truly enjoys going to “school” and I appreciate ALL the therapist there who work so hard with him.. my son especially loves ms. Betsy and ms. Jessica. Absolutely recommend the Sonder center :)
