As neurodivergent-affirming providers, we need more trusted psychologists who truly understand neurodivergent needs, sensory differences, and the harm that can result from neurotypical-centered treatment approaches. Dr. Sterling and her team excel in both research and practice-based evidence, offering the depth of understanding the community deserves. Without hesitation, I recommend Dr. Sterling & her team!

I may be the biggest fan of Sterling Institute for Autism and Dr. Sterling! As the Head of School for Fusion Academy in Huntington Beach, I was introduced to Dr. Sterling 6 years ago as a potential support for some of our students. Her wisdom and her approach to the community that she works with have been a guiding light for me and my team, and I've referred multiple families to her practice for testing, therapy and for their boys & girls groups.

I had the complete opposite experience of Dr. Sterling than the other reviewer and felt compelled to write a review too. As the father of a neurodiverse child, I had the opportunity to consult with Dr. Sterling, and the experience was life-changing and life-saving as a parent. From the very first conversation, she demonstrated a rare combination of empathy, kindness, and deep professionalism. She took the time to TRULY listen, not just to the concerns I had about my son, but to the emotional experience I was having parenting a child with unique needs. Dr. Sterling’s insights helped me better understand and support my son, and her guidance provided both clarity and comfort during a time when I felt overwhelmed. Her compassion and expertise have made a positive lasting impact on our family. I am deeply grateful for her support and would recommend her without hesitation to any parent navigating the complexities of neurodiversity.

As a clinical psychologist, I regularly refer clients to the Sterling Institute and have consistently had excellent experiences. The staff are professional, responsive, and kind, and scheduling has always been seamless. Feedback from my referred clients has been overwhelmingly positive; they’ve shared how supported they feel and how clearly their needs have been understood. The evaluations conducted by Sterling Institute clinicians are exceptionally thorough and insightful, providing valuable information that helps guide care and support. I highly recommend Sterling Autism for their expertise, professionalism, and compassionate approach. — Jennifer Marshall, Ph.D.

Just a warning. We needed a new psychiatrist for our autistic son (previous passed away). They said they have one and asked us to fill out 8 pages of forms to get started. Took an hour or so. Then they said they didn’t feel they could serve him properly…found it strange an “Institute for Autism” didn’t feel it could serve a client whose issue is autism, and had us waste a bunch of our time before deciding that.
