I been working with HOPE since 2023 I have worked with 2 or their therapist and they both are great. My current therapist, Michael Storrs, I have been working with for months since about October and we have made great progress together. I enjoy his way of working with me and helpin me with different perspectives on my lively matters.

My experience with this particular facility has been good! I was referred to them by the therapist I was seeing at WakeMed. I was on the waiting list for a while due to insurance and being picky about my therapist. I found a therapist that I click with! And not in a friend way but someone that is strongly keeping me accountable for the life that I want to achieve. If you're reading this I hope that you find a therapist that will help you achieve what you're looking for here or anywhere but most importantly get the help that you need.

I really love our parent chuld therapy here. Our therapist has been amazing and has drastically improved my communication and connection with my autistic daughter. The building isn't the best, but I understand that comes from lack of funding. All in all these people are trying, but unfortunately their resources seem limited.

My review is specifically for the Smithfield location Day Treatment/PHP program. We have been dealing with this location for well over 6 months. Only reason why we haven't left is because of how amazing the intensive in home team is. The Day Treatment program absolutely needs serious work. Therapists/group leaders (Ms. Nileah, Ms. Leah) making faces at kids, getting in kids faces and yelling at them, purposely using a kids triggers against them. Asking a child what her size is because of an outfit. Every single time I request to talk to the director and the therapists at the same time, NO ONES stories match and they are never consistent. You will never receive a direct answer, everything will always be vague and flipped around in a narcissistic manner. If you send your child here, just know that they will be punished for using their safety plan while programming, they will be punished for using any emotion other than happy while programming, and if for any reason they become upset and want to call their parents, they will tell them no, despite them identifying their parent as part of their safety. They will not respect identified triggers despite it being on the safety plan. Don't expect updates or decent communication. If you have no choice but to use this office, I recommend only communicating through email so that the director, Mr. Neal can't change his stories or manipulate situations. They also don't have cleaning staff, so just know that your children are the ones who clean the building and bathrooms that are used by the staff and children. Good luck trying to lower your stress level if your child goes here for Day Treatment.
