We adopted our two kittens here. Very well run shelter and amazing, caring people who really are dedicated to the animals. Highly recommend.

I love NHHS. Not only have we personally adopted our cat here from years back, but I have recommended them to many people looking for animals. A great group of people that are as polite and helpful as can be.

I advise you not to adopt from this New Hampshire Humane Society in Laconia. We adopted a dog from NHHS a few weekends ago. I believe staff knew our newest family member had an intestinal issue when they allowed us to take her home.

This is a fantastic shelter. They rescue local dogs, cats, and other small animals. They also rescue dogs from other parts of the country. The building is a couple years old and is beautiful. The cats have rooms with great views, places to climb.

completely unwilling to accommodate surrenders outside of open-3:30 on weekdays. told me flat out despite them being open there is zero ability to accept surrenders on weekends, so if you work a job with regular hours you are just out of luck. I hope adoptions are a different story, but they are incredibly difficult to work with for surrenders.

In the past when I tried to adopt a dog the process was very difficult and it seemed like they didn’t want to adopt any dogs out unless they were the only ones in the home and it was very discouraging and I never completed a rescue with then I went elsewhere. This time I was looking for a cat and the process was much simpler and quicker and easier made a big difference. And I was able to bring her home today with me.

I was fortunate to adopt a beautiful baby kitten from NHHS today for my father who has been going through a rough time mentally. The experience was utterly remarkable. The staff was so friendly and passionate that it made the process simple and enjoyable. The kittens and pups were well taken care of and managed. They kept up with medical care for the pets as well. The animals all seemed healthy and happy and seemed to trust the staff. The application process was swift and the rates were very reasonable. They also provided me with some introductory supplies, such as cat food and a pet crate. 5/5 place all around. If you’re looking to adopt a new member of your family then this place is a fantastic resource.

We recently adopted a new dog. The staff took time to ensure that our current dog would work well with our new puppy. Their experience helped in identifying if the dogs would be compatible We experienced no problems and now both are doing well together

Through out my life I, have been adopted many cats and one dog through your organization. You're amazing. I always tell people who are looking for a fur baby to go see you. I can never thank you enough for the sweet babies 💓 Thanks, to you, I've had some very special babies. This is Mimosa, she was 5-6 years old when she adopted me I gave her a very loving, warm, safe home for 7-8 years. She was very spoiled and ran our home with a fuzzy paw. 🐾 On November 14th she was safe in my arms as she crossed the rainbow bridge 🌈💝 😭 This holiday season is not the same. She's not laying by the tree 🎄 talking and burring to it..I miss her so very much 💔 My warmest wishes filled with love, Jane 💝 p.s. She was a huge Sir David Attenborough fan! She could have been in a coma but as soon as she heard his voice she was wide awake and watching his program💕
