I spent nine days at this facility, and it wasn’t a positive experience. Some staff members appeared insensitive and unaware of your well-being. The quiet room needs to be made safer, especially considering that a child died there due to

Not good, the staff takes there sweet time to break up a fight. My 12yr old was snatched by the back of her hair and was punched several times before the staff stood up to stop it, and then 3 girls pushed her to the ground steadily kicking her and of course it took the staff a couple of minutes to stop that. My daughter was attacked twice and the staff never informed me about it and when I asked they basically brushed it off like it never happened. I do not recommend this place. I had to give one star so I can post this.

My daughter has several mental health issues and was struggling in School and socially. she was headed down the wrong path. we had been to several doctors and many therapist. Nothing seem to be working. northSprings brought her out of that dark place. She had the best therapist she’s ever had.(Jennifer)! she taught her communication skills and how to deal with her anger. The doctor there finally got her on the correct meds, and after six months of hard work, my daughter is back and I’m so thankful!

5 star for the visibility. I was there when I was 11-15 in long term care. I’m permanently physically disabled because of the restraints they used. I learned later that the restraint used is actually a stress position. Which is legally classified as torture. I also learned that a child died in this facility due to such restraints, so I suppose I got off lightly by comparison. They constantly had bedbugs and rats were a common problem. They never took us outside with the exception of walking to the dining hall and yet wondered why we all had depression and vitamin d deficiencies. We got to go outside once a month at most. It was overall a traumatic experience that took years of therapy to get over. Of course when you complain as a child no one listens. I’m 27 now and I will never institutionalize my child long term bc of my experiences here. The risk of abuse and neglect in places such as this is simply too high. If your child is a resident here, prepare for their behavior to be worse than when they entered for a time as they’re likely processing a traumatic and dehumanizing experience.

I came to this place a few years back but I was at the PHP and I always like to reminisce on my amazing therapist I had over there. Coming from no strong support system and nobody to understand my struggles Mrs. Alana serves as a Black ✊🏾 caribbean who has been there, and is a women, and who knows what it’s like to feel misunderstood. She continuously pushes her clients to do better without it being aggressive and demanding and that’s why I love her and that raise is deserved!

This place does not care about the well-being of the children. My son was discharged on yesterday came home and tried take his life the very next day. It hasn’t even been 24 hours and he’s still in a crisis state. I told them that I didn’t feel comfortable with him coming home. I told them that he wasn’t ready to come home and that he needed further treatment and a different type of facility. they did not listen to me or hear my cry for help they discharge him and and he still needs help further than what I can do or any other outside facility you can do.
