If you are heartbroken from watching your brave child struggle, and are exhausted, frustrated, feeling discarded by tragically flawed systems that have previously failed your child, and are losing hope, please take heart. Our child came here with severe developmental delays which prevented him from being able to participate in most activities outside of the home. In two years, he graduated after having met age appropriate developmental milestones, even surpassing in some areas. Two years ago, I could not imagine this life for him. Today, he is reading, and about to surpass his peers in math skills. He carries on full conversations, and is able to articulate his thoughts. More importantly, he is comfortable in his body, and his mind is very peaceful. He has confidence. His sensory challenges are so much less severe than they used to be. He is JOYFUL.
