Prosper ABA

I am sharing our experience with Prosper ABA so other families can make an informed decision. My 3-year-old daughter was recently diagnosed with autism, and we were referred to this center because of its convenient location. Throughout the intake process, I noticed several concerning red flags. From the beginning, the director was very pushy about getting us started. Conversations felt rushed, as if information was being read from a script, and I was not given much opportunity to ask questions or share concerns. When I spoke with the BCBA about how the evaluation process would work and how therapy hours would be determined, she seemed unsure of the specifics. However, she did state that we would decide together what number of hours would be appropriate for my daughter. When it came time for the evaluation, we were introduced to a different clinician who had clearly not reviewed my daughter’s file, referring to her as “my son” despite the extensive information I had already provided. While mistakes happen, this felt careless and reinforced my concern that we were being treated like a number rather than an individual child. Throughout the process, I consistently communicated important factors about my daughter’s needs. She attends an integrated preschool in another town where she receives OT and speech therapy, and she struggles with sleep. I repeatedly expressed that I did not want to overwhelm her and that we wished to begin with two days per week and adjust based on how she responded. After the evaluation, I received a call from the director informing me that we were scheduled for five days per week. I politely reiterated — again — that this would not work for our family. Instead of collaborating, the director argued that I had agreed to more hours, which was not true. After significant back and forth, he said he would “make it work” and call back with a start date. A week later, I received a call from another staff member who was extremely unprofessional and confrontational. He attempted to pressure me into committing to additional therapy, again insisting that I had agreed to it. The tone of the conversation was dismissive and condescending. At no point did he show genuine concern for my daughter’s individual needs or what would be sustainable for our family. The interaction felt centered on maximizing billable hours rather than supporting a young child. ABA therapy can be incredibly beneficial when delivered ethically and collaboratively. However, families deserve to feel heard, respected, and included in decisions about their child’s care. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here.
