The staff at Growing Kids are amazing and highly professional. Please understand that this, or any, method is not a magic wand - it takes a variable amount of time and must be done correctly (as trained practitioners do it). The core principles of coaching the motor system and presuming competence have been for my family, are as others have said, LIFE CHANGING. Anyone can leverage and apply those completely logical ideas for positive change, beyond the realm of communication. One of the biggest challenges with this change may be rewiring our own brains (not our spellers) to see how the “experts” and those they inform, including us parents, innocently misinform about autism because the diagnostic manual overlooks the motor planning required by cognitive testing and sentences those without the required motor planning to succeed at those tests to “intellectual disability”. Also, let’s cut doubters all the slack they need to come around from what the “experts” say by patiently continuing to share what we see S2C doing for our spellers. Open and respectful dialogue is so important.

Our experience has been nothing short of life changing. We discovered our son had aptitudes, thoughts, feelings we were completely unaware of. When we first went, they told us two things. 1 You are welcome here and we have seen every kind of behavior from children on the spectrum. This alone was so very welcome Vs the treatment we have received at so many places with our son. 2. Success will not come overnight and the early part of the journey will be bumpy. It was...but we pressed on and received constant encouragement to do so. The ability to communicate with our son has been life changing. It is NOT voodoo or sleight of hand and the online critics that say the instructors manipulate the students hands on the boards have no idea what the hell they are talking about. EV is brilliant as are the people who work here and they combine this with the kindest most empathetic disposition. Its one of the few places in the world I feel like we can just be. And we asked my son in a session how he felt about coming there. He typed "I love it here." I could not be a bigger supporter. **Life Changing.**

We feel so blessed to have found growing kids therapy center! My son is a 10 year old , he is an unreliable speaker with autism. We traveled from Detroit for the 2 day out of town therapy. We had such a great experience. Kelly Berg was our therapist and she is incredible! I met so many amazing families in the waiting room, and I witnessed what I consider miracles! We are so excited to be on this journey!
