I am a single grandmother with sole custody of my grandson, who has TSC and autism related disease. Adhd combined type and executive functioning deficit. Aba Path rcvd a 6 month auth from CMS for Nov 25th 2024. They asked for 30 hrs and were partial denied until I made the calls and got the approval. Since Nov 25th my grandson has had 4 sessions. Zero in Nov. None in Dec. And only 4, at the end of Jan the last 2 weeks, both on a Tues n Thurs. Not even using up the full hours in Jan. None in Feb. Here we are in March, and still nothing. The auth ends in May! I call and email. I get crickets. I text his bcba and she just says she will contact scheduling. Meanwhile. I am sitting here with bruises. Which I texted photos to Bcba. Dealing with tantrums. Struggling to help him in school. (He no longer attends public school and is at home, due to SPED teacher calling police on him in his ASD class.) I can't reach Erin Hamilton. And even CMS case manager has tried to help. Aba Path advertises coverage for Hillsborough County. But apparently I live too far from center to have the help. They say that they are hiring new people. But the rbt who gave him his 4 sessions was just hired. And she was already given to a different client. We went through the entire process. They got everything they needed. But my grandson is left without the medical services. Edit after Aba Path reply: The Medicaid auth was given November 25th. No sessions November. No sessions December. And no sessions with his Bcba even after "the start of Jan 2025 changes with Medicaid. " All he had was: an introduction meeting with new Rbt to which his Bcba came. And 4 sessions the last 2 weeks of Jan 2025 both on Tuesday and Thursday with a newly hired Rbt Morgan who was great. Nothing before nothing after. Even though Medicaid authorized the 30 hours a month Aba Path asked for. I contacted his Bcba many times who said she would get with scheduling. But he was never seen by her or anyone. Edit Jan 2026 & still on many wait lists he still hasn't had aba since we were with this company.

My son has made incredible progress since starting here over 2 years ago! He has the best team of therapists we could ask for. I couldn’t imagine taking him anywhere else!

My son has been going since he was 2.5yo and is now about to be 10! He didn’t talk, he didn't eat more than 3 types of food, he didn't interact with anyone, and it was hard to communicate with him! Now he’s in gifted classes, goes to regular school, and is an honor roll student. We have had sibling training and parent training, which has helped everyone to communicate better with him! It’s truly been amazing to see how far he has come! Never once have I felt my child was unsafe. His private information has remained private. This company has changed what I viewed of ABA, yes there are bad apples in every bunch, but mostly the hands of care he receives is amazing!

Overall, we had a horrible experience with this company, and the way it is run. We went to the company, because my son’s therapists used to work for them. They did not handle the financials well at all. They didn’t file the correct paperwork to the insurance and threatened to take services away due to non-payment, but we did pay insurance (which covered most of it), and we offered a copay to them that they told us not to pay until insurance went through. Since they didn’t file correctly, it didn’t go through (and they were notified), and then they requested all the funds later or no services any more knowing they messed up! It was a mess. I wish they communicated differently with me. The financial person was really rude to us as well during this time. Their own therapists that worked for them have told me that this was common practice at the time, and told me about some other issues as well. This occurred about 2 years ago, so I’m hoping things are better for them and the families they service!

ABA Path has been amazing at providing support and professional help to families with children on the spectrum in the Tampa Bay area. We have worked with a few therapists that have been a great support and they truly care about our family.
