ABA Therapy in Florida

Florida has one of the strongest autism insurance mandates in the country through the Steven A. Geller Autism Coverage Law, enacted in 2008. The Sunshine State requires insurance coverage for ABA therapy with generous annual limits. Florida's large population and year-round warm climate have attracted numerous ABA providers, making it one of the states with the most available services. The state's Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) also provides ABA services through Medicaid waiver programs.

Insurance Coverage for ABA in Florida

Florida's Steven A. Geller Autism Coverage Law (enacted 2008) requires state-regulated health insurance plans to cover ABA therapy for autism spectrum disorder. Coverage includes up to $36,000 per year for individuals under 18 and $25,000 for those 18 and older. Florida Medicaid also covers ABA therapy as a medically necessary service.
